Our 2014 Fundraising and Marketing Season has now started,with our charity partners we will be out and about promoting the charity and the facilities we can offer to other families.

WINTER UPDATE

We have been enjoying a small amount of time out from our busy summer schedule,still lots going on behind the scenes and of course the daily running of The BRT Shop,we are already in discussions with plans for the year ahead and its looking like another busy one is in the pipeline,more details to follow.

August Update

Another busy month for the BRT Team,our charity partners  at www.argyllholidays.com kept us busy on their parks with a variety of different events from Bogey Races to BBQ`s and the Cowal Breakfast Event @Stratheck Holiday Park.Thank you so much to all the management @ argyll holidays and the holiday home owners for your continued support.

We also entered a raft in to the IBSC annual raft race,hard to believe the a peugeot 206 can float for so long :-)

We had our stall at the Bute Highland Games and were once again blessed with dry weather,great to see the local community get together for a great event.We followed this up with our first visit to the Cowal Gathering in Dunoon marketing the charity and handing out some freebies.

Our new shop is progressing really well,so much support from the community is so inspiring to us all.

September will be another milestone in Brianne`s journey as she reaches the end of the 6th year in remission,sadly we have learnt of other young ones passing away and new diagnoses so we feel so blessed to have Brianne with us,all the side effects of her treatment seem so small when we hear of other families losses.

Brianne will be off to Yorkhill again next week for further MRI scans to investigate the problems with her spine and leg issues and we will keep you all posted when we have more news <3

July Update

July has been a very eventful month for all of the team. We have seen our new charity shop grow from strength to strength with the support of the community helping us raise the necessary funds to provide this great facility.We have been very busy working with our charity partners @ argyll holidays,rothesay removals and rothesay furniture. We have had great feedback from our visiting families too. Ever concious to keep our costs down 2 of our trustees Chris and Stuart have generously purchased a converted 50 seater bus/motorhome to ferry our volunteers to and from events,this saves them from running 4/5 cars to events and they can all arrive fresh and ready to go at a fraction of the cost as all our volunteers offer their time freely and happily cover the costs of their travel. Our new bouncy castle hire is taking off really well too with a steady flow of bookings coming in with the last booking of the month being a fundraising afternoon with the staff of Bute Fabrics who kindly choose us as the benefactors of their annual staff fundraisng day for which we are extremely grateful.Thank you so much to everyone that has supported us and we look forward to working with you all in the coming months <3

June Update

Hi Everyone,

June has been an amazing month for all of us at BRT hq,so many events have taken place and some great behind the scenes activity too.

We started June with a joint venture with North Bute Primary School and the community of Port Bannatyne and held the port gala day which we were happy to help bring back to the local events calender,what an excellent day it was.

The following weekend in a joint marketing excercise with Argyll Holidays some of the team headed off the the famous Rockness music festival and had a very successful weekend raising the profile of the charity,many thanks must go to the marketing team and all those at www.argyllholidays.com who made this possible.

The 15th of June saw us back with our friends at the lovely Stratheck Holiday Park where we held the second of our 2 annual race night.Thank you to Paul and Gwen Ineson the park managers and all the park residents for always making us feel so welcome.

The 16th of June we were at Hunters Quay Holiday Village,the home of Briannes Bothan our free holiday home for a car boot sale and BBQ that was jointly organised by the holiday home sales team.

After what some thought was a weekend off we were doing some behind the scenes investigating and the Trustees managed to broker a deal so we could look in to opening our first charity shop and then the hunt began.A suitable shop was found and we spent all spare hours of the coming week getting it ready for the grand opening on the 29th of June by a very special friend of ours Mr Mike Blair.Mike is now a retired but very active volunteer at our local online community radio station Radio Bute,however back in 2005 when Brianne was first diagnosed Mike was a roaming reporter for our local newspaper The Buteman  and at our very first fundraiser with Nadia`s hairdressers for the Yorkhill Childrens Foundation Mike was to carry out the first of many photo shoots/interviews that would see him follow Brianne`s journey through treatment and the long road to remission and beyond.

In between setting up and opening the shop we also managed to put a team at the local Armed Forces Gala Day,we at the BRT are proud to support our armed forces and we donated half the proceeds of our bouncy castle takings to the local british legion office.

As June now draws to a close we are already planning what comes next and we are at Loch Awe Holiday Park next saturday hosting an open day on behalf of the park managers.

Fundraising Update

The Trust team have a busy schedule coming up,we are attending the port bannatyne gala day on 2nd June,rockness music festival on 7th 8th 9th of June on a joint marketing excercise with argyllholidays.com,stratheck holiday park on 15th June for a race night,hunters quay holiday village for a car boot sale on 16th June and lots more coming up too,looking like a busy summer (if we get one) of fundraising.
